Lisa Hughes joined the UP staff in 2022 as the Marshall Fire Local Liaison after losing her home in the Marshall Fire, she has the lived experience of navigating insurance after disaster. She will be covering what is important when insurance shopping, what steps to take if you get drops, lessons learned from the Marshall Fire, and more. After the presentation, there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
Forest Lakes Subdivision in La Plata County is hosting a 2025 Wildfire Preparedness Day Event. The Free event will feature hands-on workshops and several experts to ask questions about Wildfire Safety. Bring the kids, you might even catch smokey bear or the bouncy house!
